钱求通发财网The Opposite of Easy Newspaper Wedding Programs
It only seems appropriate that I should follow up my simplest wedding DIY with a post about what turned out to be our most complicated wedding project: our programs,http://www.22788.info/zengdaoren/201503/11.html.
Wedding programs seem to be one of those projects that tend to get left to the last minute and often materialize as simple folded pieces of paper that 100% get the job done and, in many cases, look beautiful doing it. Case in point,彩民之家心水论坛,http://www.55548.info/www_55548_info/201503/6.html,钱求通发财网, remember these beauts from the Squid wedding:

Pretty early in our engagement, I was struck by program inspiration that added some complexity to our wedding programs. There were two inspiration pictures,http://www.673344.info/www_673344_info/201503/9.html, in particular, that I just couldn’t shake.
The first was from Pinterest. Honestly, on the whole I didn’t find too much inspiration from Pinterest during my planning process. Several blogger bees have posted about finding lots of (maybe even too much) inspiration on Pinterest, but the rustic, distressed,香港天下彩报码, natural look that dominates Pinterest wedding boards didn’t really offer me very much. That said,www.577588.com, when I first saw the bridal party infographic I was absolutely smitten.

I loved the idea of our guests being able to refer to the graphic to learn about the members of our bridal party as they stood up with us during the ceremony (especially since our bridal party was so large). I have often found myself curious about the bridal party at a wedding, wanting to know more than just a name, and this struck me as a brilliant way to both acknowledge our bridal party and satisfy that kind of curiosity. With no graphic-design skills of my own, I figured I would need some assistance,http://www.044234.info/www_044234_com/201503/11.html, so I consigned our lovely designer,黄大仙心水论坛, Patty (who helped bring my invitation vision to reality), to help me build our bridal-party infographic.
For a while, the only thing I knew about the program was that I wanted an infographic guide to the bridal party across the top. But as soon as I saw these newspaper programs from Martha Stewart,http://www.334490.info/www_334490_info/201503/10.html, I knew a newspaper program would be perfect for us.

Why? Because, my dear Mr. Crab loves newspapers. There was a point in time when we were getting four newspapers a day delivered to our apartment (the current daily total varies between three and one, depending on the day of the week). Even though there is a backlog sometimes, he reads every one. When we’re traveling one of his favorite things to do is get ahold of the local paper, and he’s written opinion pieces that have been featured in our local paper, The Philadelphia Inquirer. To top it all off, we’re getting married in an old publishing building.
The idea of highlighting Mr. Crab’s love of newspapers in this way seemed like a great way to add a very personal touch to our wedding, and even though I suspected it would be a pretty big undertaking, I also suspected it would be well worth the effort. (Spoiler alert: It was a lot of work and it was totally worth it.)
A logical place to start the design process was the “template” that Martha attached to the inspiration pic:
When a template isn’t really a template. / Image Credit: Martha Stewart Weddings
It isn’t really a template, because it isn’t editable, and, as you can see, it turned out to be more of a newspaper cover on a traditional program. Furthermore,http://www.38636.info/xianggang6hecai/201503/7.html, the front page featured a very large area for a photograph. We weren’t wild about the idea of making a photo of ourselves the main feature of the program, so we knew we’d have to come up with a different layout.
In the next couple posts, I’ll describe the key elements of the program project. As I suspected it would be, creating the content for our newspaper wedding programs was a labor of love and a ton of work. Based on both the feedback from our guests and the photos from the wedding,http://www.555868.info/www_555868_info/201503/7.html, I am happy to report that it was 100% worth the effort. The only thing I would change about the process is that we should have worked on the programs sooner so that we weren’t working on them down to the wire. Getting these done,http://www.577588.info/577588_com/201503/7.html, printed,香港马会官方资料网, and in our hands on time was one of my main stressors in the week before the wedding—looking back there was no real reason they couldn’t have been done sooner.
